Vintage Vase from Tonala, of course,hand made and hand painted, hand burnished see pictures for condition. It is in excellent condition. I bought this piece in Tonala, on vacation, over 35 years ago. Designs vary on each side of this piece, beautiful imagination of fawn and fauna.
This piece is traditional pottery from Tonala, highly decorated, exceptional vintage work. Fernando Jimon Melchor, master of Tonala art pottery, I sent him a picture of this item and he
said "Beautiful pieces".

The ceramic production in Tonalá, known as the authentic mestizo ceramic is symbolic of Mexico’s identity. Made of burnished clay or scented clay, these artistic objects are created for ordinary and decorative use. The tradition comes from the Tonalteca group, which used clay to produce polished forms. The first designs of these ceramics were inspired by forms found in nature such as vegetables and roots.
