Vintage Sterling Silver Baby Rattle in a minimalist design from 1935 in immaculate, near unused (or very gentle babies, which no doubt counts) condition. Stamped “BH (inside a circle) STERLING 10” in a still easily readable marking which shows how unused or lightly used this antique is. Dimensions: 2 3/4” long, 1 1/8” diameter. Weighs 36.1 grams. Has a nice ring to the rattle. Have not found a vintage BECHT & HARTL INC from Newark, New Jersey like this in such pristine condition. Usually babies will bite a baby rattle and dent it from play, or an older child will be rough with baby’s noisy toy. But here we have a very old antique in amazing condition. The silver is hollow. The rattle mechanism is in the middle of the dumbbell. Makes a great gift or collectible. Comes with this vintage Pacific Silver (pocketed) Cloth , to protect and prevent tarnish. This super low price is firm.
