For your consideration is this vintage salad / snack plate set produced in Japan most likely in the 1920s to 1930s. This set includes four plates. Each piece is hand painted and bares a blue luster band on the rim with a black band separating the blue from the white. All are adorned with a beautiful Japanese Maple Motif. It is unknown who produced these originally as the plates bare the "Made In Japan" black mark. According to Made In Japan Ceramics by Carol Bess White, this mark was a generic mark used by many manufacturers for export items during that time. The plates measure 7.4 inches in diameter and has a beveled edge. They are very delicate and free of any chips. One plate does have crazing. Simply a lovely set you will want to add to your collection.
