An intriguing 1935 fraternity collectible honor student badge from the Knights of Pythias Lodge, No. 305. The Knights of Pythias was established in 1864 as a fraternity and secret society organizition and still exists.
The Knights of Pythias were not nearly as affluent as the Masons and Odd Fellows, and this is reflected in their lodge jewelry, most of which is gold and silver plated brass. Silver subordinate lodge jewels like this rare Honor Student Badge represent a tiny fraction of Pythian jewelry and are quite rare, especially in this large 2" size.
