This listing is for two vintage "Dickens Days" salad plates in pink luster. The image depicts a four-horse coach traveling through the English countryside. Diameter: 8 inches. Backstamps read, "(clipper ship) /Gray's Pottery /Made in /Stoke-on-Trent /England"; this mark was used from 1948 to 1961. This is the wide mark (N6) introduced to cover the larger manufacturers’ backstamps in use after the Second World War and is the explanation as to why the colored stamp on these plates covers another (older) stamp. Both plates are in very good condition. In addition to salad, use these for dessert, breakfast quiche, a burger and chips, display in a cabinet, or hang them on a wall for instant decor.
