Synthetic spinel ring sterling silver size O vintage

A show-stopping synthetic spinel ring set in sterling silver and stamped for Mexico. This isn't uranium glass (no Geiger activity above background) but instead is the more desirable synthetic spinel. Spinel reacts well in both 395 and 365nm, just as uranium glass would. The glow is greener under 365 than 395, but both are as bright as each other. Both photos show the glow under 395nm. I don't have the means to measure the carat weight of the stone, but as you can see from the pictures, it's quite huge! It's a beautiful high-set piece and is sure to make heads turn wherever you wear it. There is a very very tiny chip to one corner of the faceting which I've tried to picture in the listing. It's so small and unnoticeable that it's extremely hard to photograph, and I only noticed with my reading glasses on, staring closely at the stone in bright light.
