Higher Bounce rate in Google Analytics Good or Bad?
By Adheeth on Sep 5, 2008 in General
Bounce rate is a measure of visit quality, how many pages did the visitor visit in your website. So does higher bounce rate means your website is bad?? The information is not relevant to the visitor?
Higher Bounce rate dosent always mean your site lacks quality content. When the user finds the right information from the landing page, then also the bounce rate can be high, say for Eg: the user is looking for the price of iPhone in India. When the user finds the price he might simply close the page.
A site with a Splash page, say like “Enter website”. The site will have lesser bounce rate compared to the first one as the visitor is always navigating to another webpage. It dosent mean that site in our first scenario lacks quality content. Infact the first site is the one which gives the accurate and spot on results for the user.
Higher Bounce rates can also be due to poor website templates, Poor site navigation etc. Always try to use Related content Plugin (if wordpress) so that there is higher chance that user will navigate to other pages in your website.
