Twitpic on May 10th made changes to their Terms of service after they have signed an exclusive deal with WENN which would enable them to sell all images uploaded by Twitpic in their network.

The important changes to the TOS are

• “…you hereby grant Twitpic a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of…” and “…after you remove or delete your media from the Service provided that any sub-license by Twitpic to use, reproduce or distribute the Content prior to such termination may be perpetual and irrevocable.”

Twitterati kicked off protests immediately and after a day Twitpic came up with an apology and amended its TOS page. The final word from Twitpic is that the user still owns the content. Will you still use Twitpic?

Facebook now lets you tag Pages in your Photos. This would be a great feature with lots of advantages and disadvantages. This feature should create a better marketing reach for the brands in an effort to increase their fan base and also to track conversations that are happening in personal profiles (albums) which are related to the brand.

Eg: I get a brand new Levis Jeans and I upload a picture of me wearing it and tag the Levis Jeans to the photo.

Considering the fact that it can trigger a lot of tag spam, Facebook has given the option to admins to untag from photos. The tagged photos will not be visible on the wall instead they will appear in a new tab on the page.

A new spam is underway and this unlike others confuses people so much as it is shown as a link next to the comment button and people take it to be genuine and a feature from Facebook.

It tracks down your cookies, steals your information from browser and posts the message as a link from iPhone.

Its always easy to understand these kind of spam if you have some sense. Just go keep ur cursor above any such links and you can see a completely different website address in it.

Mouthshut has finally joined the deals bandwagon with the launch of a new deals website (group buying website). The site is called dealface.

Dealface has operation only in Mumbai and soon would be expanding to other markets. I am quite exited about the news that mouthshut is also entering a market space which looks very promising and growing at a rapid pace. A big question is now how many would continue to be in business at the end of this year?
