Display your Google+ Page in Gmail Sidebar for all mails originating from your Business Domain

Display your Google+ Page in Gmail Sidebar for all mails originating from your Business Domain

One of the best free promotional tools given by Google and probably the least used in the present scenario. You can display your Google+ Page in your Gmail side bar for all the emails originating from your business domain.

google plus side bar showing brand page

The Gmail people widget” makes it easier for your audience to connect with your Brand on Google+. It’s easy to be enable this feature and all you need is a verified Google+ page and digitally signed email.

Top 3 reasons why you should enable this

  1. You can grow your Google+ following by prompting customers that receive your emails to follow your brand’s Google+ page, right from Gmail.
  2. You can drive more views of your Google+ posts; your Google+ page’s posts can appear in Gmail, next to email you send to your customers.
  3. It’s free!

To start off you need to create a Google+ page which is website verified with the domain from which you will be sending emails(You must send at least 1,000 emails a week from the domain). The sender’s domain for the email must match that of the verified website. If your website is verified as http://www.example.com, the email must be sent from the @example.com domain. If you send email from a subdomain of your verified domain (such as @xyz.example.com), Goole will still match it to your page unless there’s a different Google+ page associated with that address.

Once you’ve taken these steps, the related pages widget should display alongside emails sent from your domain. The Follow button will only appear for Gmail users with a Google+ account, and Google+ posts will only appear if the page has posted recently. Businesses that send email from an email domain (such as @gmail.com) that is available to the general population can’t use the widget unless they’ve verified the email address through their Google+ page.

How to re-Enable Google Adsense Ad Serving in your website

How to re-Enable Google Adsense Ad Serving in your website

I had a very successful blog which at its peak, Google disabled the ad serving citing problems with content length and navigation. They picked up posts which was posted during my initial blogging days and had a word count of less than 100. They disabled ad serving without even giving a notice!. I was too busy with life that i did not get time to investigate or write back. My earnings dropped to zero! The worst nightmare coming true!

Adsense Disabled

Almost after a year and half i decided to clean up the posts. I first installed a new plugin called “Post Admin word count” which added a new column to “All posts” view. I did some quick sorting and found out all posts less than 100 words and deleted them. As a second step I decided to change the theme to a simpler minimalistic clutter free one. Now that i’ve sorted all the issues pointed by the adsense team, I reapplied at the policy content violation page mentioning the steps I took and requesting them to re-enable ad serving on my website.Withing 5 days they evaluated the website and re-enabled ad serving on website.

It will take me time to get back to those golden adsense days! but def I’m motivated enough to work harder and learn more! Happy Earning time!

Facebook Re-Designs AD Buying and Reporting Tools

Facebook Re-Designs AD Buying and Reporting Tools

Facebook has re-designed their ad buying and reporting tools. More emphasis will now be on the advertising objective and hence the ad buying process will now start with a simple question – What’s your advertising objective?

facebook advertising objective

The objectives would be

  • Clicks to Website
  • Website Conversions
  • Page Post Engagement
  • Page Likes
  • App Installs
  • App Engagement
  • In-store Offer claims
  • Event Responses

Facebook is also now giving option to advertisers as to where their ad appears. a marketer looking to drive traffic to their website can now place a desktop ad with a link to their full desktop site, and a separate mobile ad that links to their mobile site. This means businesses can better tailor ad experiences based on where people will see their message.

The reporting tool is also updated to map the result directly to the objective which was chosen during the ad creation.
